The Unfolding Path
A creative journey inward, outward and together
Your journey starts here…
Welcome — I’m Amy Pataki, a registered art psychotherapist and founder of The Unfolding Path, providing art psychotherapy, psychoeducation and wellbeing support in Yorkshire and online.
This is a space to gently untangle past experiences and relationships, to make sense of what has shaped you, and to discover who you are in this moment. From here, you can begin to show up in the world and in your relationships more authentically, without the weight of what came before.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing.” It’s about gently unfolding at your own pace, with curiosity, creativity, and compassion, towards discovering yourself, knowing yourself, and being yourself.
One-to-one and group art psychotherapy for children, young people, and adults
Therapeutic parenting support and psychoeducation for birth families and families formed through adoption and kinship care
Training and consultation for schools and organisations
Creative wellbeing groups for women and caregivers
In-person sessions across Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, York)
Online sessions UK-wide
What I offer:
Children, adolescents, and adults seeking psychotherapy to explore their inner world and support emotional wellbeing
Parents and caregivers wanting to understand and connect with their child in new ways
Professionals looking for creative and relational approaches in their work with young people, staff members or teams
Women and mothers who long for space to reconnect with themselves and find community
Anyone navigating emotional or relational challenges, who wants a supportive space to untangle, reflect, and make positive changes in their life.
Those who prefer a creative, embodied approach to therapy, rather than traditional talk approaches
Who I work with:
The work is led by creativity, care, and collaboration. There is no single “right way” to begin — only your way, and your pace.
If you’re curious about taking a first step, or even just asking a question, I’d love to hear from you.
Art Psychotherapy, Psychoeducation, Wellbeing:
Discovering. Knowing. Being.
My services
Art Psychotherapy
I offer one-to-one and group art psychotherapy in person and online, for children, young people, adults and families. Our journey together can be time focused, focusing on specific goals or outcomes to an agreed timeline; or can be open ended focusing on the wider picture of your life and experiences. My approach is person centred and integrative - meaning that I will respect your voice, your pace and your needs, and that I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to offer something that works best for you. Creativity will be at the core of how I facilitate your session, but you do not have to make art if you do not wish to.
Therapeutic Life Story Work
In your child’s TLSW sessions with me, we will use creativity to gently explore the events they have been through in their life , and the emotional meaning those events hold for them. We will collaboratively, and at their pace, create a coherent narrative of their experiences, to help build a stronger sense of self and deeper understanding of their life.
Parenting Support
At whatever point you are on in your parenting journey (if you are planning to start a family, or your children have left home and every stage in between), I can provide a non-judgmental space to creatively explore how your past relationships and experiences may impact on your parenting toolkit and how you connect with your children and co-parent in challenging situations. Through this journey of reflection, we will identify your family values and boundaries, and discover how to parent in line with those values and boundaries, whilst building trust and security, and remaining in connection with your children. I offer this support to biological parents, adoptive parents and guardians.
Wellbeing Focused Groups
If you are looking for a space to find community, belonging and connection, and to increase your sense of wellbeing, one of my well-being groups may be a good fit for you. I am running four groups: “Mum Me Time”, aimed at creative self care for mothers who need a space to fill their cup through creativity and mindfulness; “Art in Motion” (AIM), aimed at those who feel they would benefit from an embodied experience of art making incorporating dance and movement with art making; “Sanctuary”, a space to create an imaginary safe place where you can explore your needs and boundaries; “Milk and Mind”, an inclusive space for breast and chest feeding parents to explore, express and share the emotional aspects of breast and chest feeding, from establishing feeding, to ongoing feeding, through to weaning.
Experiential Psychoeducational Workshops
Are you a school or organisation seeking deeper understanding of how neurodiversity, trauma, or relational dynamics can affect wellbeing, belonging, and connection within your community? My experiential psychoeducational workshops offer a creative and reflective space to explore these themes through hands-on, arts-based learning. By engaging with the creative process, participants gain not only insight but embodied experience—allowing for more meaningful, lasting impact on how teams relate, support, and work together.
