Individual Art Psychotherapy
For Adults
Art psychotherapy isn’t just for children – it can be a powerful and supportive space for adults too. My approach is person-centred and collaborative, meaning we work together in a way that feels right for you. You are always in control of the pace and the direction of our sessions.
You might come to therapy with a clear focus for what you want to explore, or you might prefer to see where the process takes you (or a bit of both). I can offer guidance when you want a bit more structure, or hold space for you to lead the way when that feels more helpful.
Creativity sits at the heart of our work, but it doesn’t always mean sitting down with paints and paper. We might use drawing, painting, or sculpture, but we might also explore movement, the body, creative writing, poetry, using everyday objects in symbolic ways, or looking at existing art together. The process is flexible, and the materials are simply tools to help you connect with thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words.
